Bear Rabbit Vintage is a collection of pre-loved, vintage and homemade clothing, accessories and craft. Bear is the craft child of two babes from Melbourne, Jayne and Anna who love anything vintage and pre-loved. Adventuring through local op shops and their mothers wardrobes Jayne and Anna source all of their finds locally and even create some of them from scratch.
GET TO KNOW YOU.
WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME?
Bear is actually the name of our pet rabbit, he was the inspiration behind the name.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
ANNA: Not to sound like a douchebag but beauty inspires me. It doesn’t matter what it is, I love having beautiful things around me.
JAYNE: Strangers who make you feel like a creep. You walk past these people with an awkward amount of eye contact and then they make you think to yourself simultaneously “damn she looks lovely” and “I bet she has a horrible personality/bad breath/weird fetish…..”.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR SENSE OF STYLE FROM?
ANNA: Growing up mum and I would always go on shopping trips together for the weekend or a day, I know everything I know about style, fashion and beauty from her. She taught me less is more with make up and more is better with clothing.
JAYNE: By ditching brand-named clothes and neglecting to follow fashion trends.
WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES?
ANNA: My family. Obviously there are a lot of celebrities that influence how I style myself, Dita Von Teese influences my hair and make-up choices a lot. I love the classic babes, Sophia, Debera, Marylin, Grace and Audrey.
JAYNE: This would have to go to my mum. For the most of her life she has made her own clothes. I would love to be able to say that I never purchase anything new and everything I wear is either home-made or pre-loved clothing.
WHAT KINDS OF THINGS CAN WE EXPECT TO BE FOR SALE WITH BEAR RABBIT?
ANNA: Lots of patterned fabric! We love patterns.
JAYNE: Hand-made and pre-loved treasures.
